Annabel Banks sent us this story of her ‘Stopping Tree’

I lived in Constantine, a village in Cornwall with its own deep and lovely woods to run through when caught on a problem (creative, academic, romantic,  and sometimes all of these at once …) and these are some pictures I took of my Stopping Tree.

Stopping Tree grew at the top of a steep climb. I would touch Stopping Tree in the same place each run to show that I had made it, and that I could have a lean, catch my breath, and see what solutions presented themselves.

I moved from Constantine to London a few months ago, and now run alongside the Thames. My route is marvellous in a different way and definitely needs more trees.
