Most of the stories and tree recommendations we are featuring on this website have come in via email but we recently received something in the post, anonymously, entitled:

“Anonymous Scattergun Nurturing (Eking Out a Dream)”

The package included a pamphlet listing all the gardens open as part of Cumbria’s National Gardens Scheme, and some cryptic clues that might point to the sender of the package, or else point to the best gardens to visit. There was also a hand-written note about some very special trees:

1 The remaining Beech trees circling the Iron Age Fort in Dallam Towers Deer Park

2 The trees growing in the fissures of Gait Barrows limestone pavement (Silverdale)
