My favourite tree stands high in a field over looking Heversham. I give it a good long look as I cycle past on way down and back from Arnside. This a great cycle route for me and the family.
I hadn’t thought of this before but I can see pretty much all the places in Cumbria were I have lived. I leave Kendal on quite country lanes winding my way through Natland, Hincaster and Storth. My views are of the Kent Channel, The Southern Lakes and across to The Howgills … it takes some beating. This is such a striking tree that I sometimes stop and photograph it. I have used this tree many times in my work.
